what do people think of this...?

They claim the cycle of the earth passing through the galactic plane
of the ecliptic matches the Mayan calendar date cycle changing,
conveniently ignoring that the Mayan cycle is 5125 years, and the
galactic one is about 65 million years.

There is a ridiculous notion floating round the net that the Mayan
calendar will end in 2012. All that's actualyl happening is that the
Mayan calendar will gain an extra digit or two. It's like saying our
calendar will end at the year 9999, when of course we'll just add
another digit.
