I think it's not that bad compared with ordinary drives.
Any electronics, electrics or mechanics are prone to failure.
It is a fact of the fabric of the universe.
As for swap files, could they be done away with by use of gigs of RAM
(cheap) and streamlined operating systems?
Come to thunk of it, with gigs of RAMdisk access could be minimised by
lashings of caching...
With some adjustments to working, maybe it's sensible where the core OS
and Users apps are written to the SS device and are pretty static, and
all User Data is kept on an array of SD or similar media (for auto backup)
lol. too far :)
