Ahhh! Now that is cool! The brain may not hear the difference in an obvious way, 
but the cochlea gets a chance to alternate sensitivities (sensitivity decays in 
proportion to the acoustic energy which each individual hair cell is exposed 
to), so the same amount of acoustic energy comes through to the auditory 
pre-processing system, which says.. eventually.. hey - it sounds the same... 
but... different...
