Seems like a convenient way of getting the samples of a bunch of 
instruments when creating a similar class of sounds (string pads).  
That's why I got M-tron.  Mellotron quich and inexpensive and LIGHT!  I 
think GForce do a great job.  That being said, I'm not sure that people 
who are into programming really need to shell out the cash for a sample 
player like this.  How about getting a general purpose sample player for 
your computer and buy samples or make them yourself.  I think VSM is a 
time saver but not essential for experienced sound designers.  Still, 
I'm a little tempted...  :)
