Even in the quaint UK there are loan shark type businesses with shop 
fronts. They cash cheques on the spot for a fee, so I guess if you have 
connections to one of these, catch them off guard, or have ways to 
quickly fake I.D. (or enjoy raking in bins) it would be easy to do.

Regardless, your bank will begrudgingly return the money and make out it 
was your fault and not to do it again. Uhuh ;)

Either that or 'your friend' has an odd sense of humour, heh.
