So I am buying some gear from a buddy of mine in LA.  He prefers check
because he doesnt like paypal fees..

I send him a check, which cleared the bank yesterday morning.  Guess
what?  I get an e-mail from him saying 'where is the check?'....

I know this guy, and he isnt going to screw me (known him for 10 odd
years) so I am thinking someone somehow swipped it and managed to get
a bank to actually cash it for them.

*sigh*.  Bank customer service isnt open on saturday, so Ive got to
wait till monday to get this strightened out.

You cant even trust the post office these days.
