Which one is more important to you: Portability or image quality?

I made the decision a long time ago after I spent a two weeks trip in 
the US with a (then rather decent) compact camera. I decided I'd never 
work with an electronic viewfinder again.

I have to admit, though, that I also enjoy walking around with my very 
small Sony DSC-T9 which fits into my pockets quite easily...
