Anybody ever been here ?
Just curious..
Reading the description/home-page it sounds not average/special:
"Alto Music is thrilled to announce a new showroom located in the heart
of Manhattan – Alto NYC. Upon entering, the first thing one notices is
the lack of cash registers, intercoms, wailing guitar solos, and crowds
of people.
That’s because the concept is to provide a one-on-one environment where
the customer can compare various pieces of hardware and software – with
someone who knows the gear inside and out. Featuring Pro Tools HD,
Apogee’s Symphony system, the full Vienna Symphonic Library, Native
Instruments and East West Libraries, all platforms and plug-ins are
installed and ready to be tinkered with.
There is lots of hardware on hand too – Retro Instruments, Apogee,
Dangerous, Euphonix, Tube Tech, Alan Smart, Chandler, Neve, Crane Song –
the list goes on. Furthermore, anything not in stock can be brought in
from the Mothership up north in Middletown NY-only an hour and change away.
Having one of the largest IN STOCK inventories on the planet so close
geographically allows anything to be brought to the showroom immediately.
The showroom features a vocal booth and a critical listening environment
and all comparison tests can be recorded so the customer can walk alway
with a CD to compare the options before making a final decision. Because
of this one on one approach, visits to the showroom are by appointment
only. Please contact Shane Koss to schedule a session. Come have a
coffee, relax and get serious about checking out the gear you need."
