PC's are expensive

So perusing around looking at parts to maybe upgrade my PC and with  
the combo of having to buy new processor, new motherboard to support  
the processor, new video card, new ram as my old ones are  
incompatible(I think), and a new power supply to run all this new  
power, Jiminy Cricket I practically have a new computer! Although I am  
not exactly upgrading it just to be able to open a explorer window in  
Vista, I have higher goals.

Looking at:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 Yorkfield 2.5Ghz

EVGA 132-CK-NF78-A1 LGA 775 nForce 780i SLI ATX

EVGA GeForce 9800 GTX 512MB

Ok so I'm not exactly going frugal here :) Thoughts?

Looked up the Xeon Quads... damn they are expensive,
