Up here, unless you can be bothered to source big quantities of flour 
and cheap butter etc. (not easy) making your own bread is tastier, yes, 
but one thing it isn't is cheaper both in cost and energy whether you 
use an oven or a bread machine.

Down at the ASDA/Walmart (far away) you can buy fancy freshly baked 
whole loaves and buns (pack of 6) for 50p - £1. In most shops the flour 
to make these things would cost more already...
