Marc, welcome to the club! I'm very happy with my XPS 420 as well, it's 
really a very decent performing machine at a low price. And with the 
exception of the AMT8 whose drivers are a bit past their due date, I 
haven't had any problems with Vista yet.

I wouldn't try it on an older machine, but with decent hardware, there's 
really nothing wrong with now that it has matured a bit.
