Just got myself a quad core dell xps 420 and installed only ableton live 
on it. It rips !!!!!!! The project that made my vaio stutter beyond 
usability is cruising now at a healthy 10%

sometimes you gotta praise pure power. I'll finally be able to dig 
ableton's racks & routing schemes (that seem a lot more powerful than I 
initially thought) and give altiverb a little test run.

I never thought I could like a computer coming with vista pre-installed :)
