New Akai

I like the MPK49 controller and if I didn't already have all the
controllers I need this would be a good choice.

Akai has a new MPC 5000, a new controller keyboard (MPK49 with all  
sorts of controllers) and an MPC-like lowend beatbox called XR-20. I'm  
not sure if the MPD-32 is new also, but I have never seen it before.

Most notable feature of the MPC5000 would be the vritual analog synth  
engine included in it. Reads nice, but still it costs about as much as  
two Monomachines...

I still love my MPC, bt these things are just too damn expensive...

Musicthing(.blogspot.com) notes the release of JJOS2 0.83 for the MPC  
2000, an alternative OS that features many features not included in  
Akai's version of the brains inside the 1000.
