Is there any new music that is really awesome?

That's a challenge; most of my "new" music is pretty old!
Let's see:
Junior Boys, _So This is Goodbye_
It's poppy and electronic without sounding much like pop
or electronica, smart, soulful, melancholy and joyous all at
once. Jeremy Greenspan's swoonworthy blue-eyed soul vocals
remind me of Daryl Hall at his best.
Gavin Bryars, Philip Jeck & Alter Ego, _The Sinking of the
Titanic_
Bryars first major work is dated 1969- to reflect
changes and new narratives in the story of the doomed ocean
liner. For this latest interpretation, Bryars found
sympathetic collaborators in the avant-garde Alter Ego
ensemble and Philip Jeck's arsenal of haunted turntables.
I've heard four versions of this piece, and while Bryars
would certainly disagree with the assessment, I think it's
the definitive one.
Bernard Parmegiani, _L'oeuvre Musicale_
This compiles most of the master's effing legendary
acousmatic music from the past 45 years or so, and pisses
from a great height on any "experimental" Max/MSP or Reaktor
user working today.
