Midi looper

Guys (n gals),

 Does anyone know of any midi loopers out there? software or hardware?
Basically I want something like ableton but for midi (Does ableton do midi
looping aswell as audio?).

 Somethng where I can hit a button (or footswitch) to start recording,
play a riff on a midi controller, then hit another(or the same) button
(or footswitch) and set it looping.
 Loops might be one bar long, or upto 8 bars but they should all be in sync.

 Any recomendations?
