Some initial thoughts:

The Drum Rack is awesome.  You can drop anything into a slot, a sample, VST instrument, anything.  This means I can have Absynth4 assigned to one of my pads, very nice.  You can add dedicated insert effects to the chain as well for the overall signal path.  Lots to play with here.

The new Compressor is very nice.  No more obscure routings to get sidechaining in Live.  It's built into the compressor :-)  External sidechaining has also been added to the Gate and Auto Filter effects.

You can now include dedicated External Instrument and External Effects into a tracks signal chain.

The new Spectrum effects is very handy.  Put it on the Master and visually see how your mix is distributed across the bands.  

EQ-8's improvements are tops.

Loop Slicing is a doodle now.  Right click on any audio file and select "Slice to New Midi Track", set the parameters, and bingo, you get a midi track with a clip in there triggering all the slices, velocity mapped and all.  All this inside a Drum Rack.  High tweakability factor as well.  Fantastic stuff.

I love the way Ableton takes difficult tasks in DAWs and makes them second nature.  This slicing thing is the biz.  Shredding audio has never been easier.

Tons other stuff in there.  The accessible stuff looks great, I can only imagine that the under the hood improvements are making Live even better :-)

Flipping flip-flop!  There are a few
things in there I am ever so slightly moist about..  Probably upgrade at
