I sometimes use a plug-in called Alien 
Skin Exposure 2. Lots of interesting old 
film/cross-processing/slide and noise 
signatures, also extremely editable. I 
was even able to change some pretty 
mediocre stuff into very nice pictures.

Moreover, I like to edit colours a lot. 
I'm a sucker for extreme colours. 
Reality is so boring... ;-)
