Hey guys,

As some of you might know, Kristin and I are in Zermatt at the moment, enjoying our yearly Christmas Vacation in the Swiss Alps.

Last night, a couple of hours after trying to make a reservation at Zermat''s bussiest, best, and probably only Thai restaurant over the phone, we found out our name wasn't on the list. Bugger! Until Kristin suggested they might have had too much trouble with "Van Santen" (I only had to spell it out like 5 times) and just changed it into "Franz Anton", whose name was indeed in the appointment book. Evening saved!

So we ordered a bottle of red wine, a nice red curry and some Pad Thai, and halfway the meal Kristin mentions that Karl Lagerfeld had just come in. Now that wouldn't have been too strange; famous people come to this little Swiss mountain village all the time. We have personally missed the likes of Robby Williams and Agneta Feltskogg by only hours.

So I checked out the guy. It clearly wasn't Karl Lagerfeld, though. Not that I know the man, but he looked too big, too casual, and much more like a rock star. Then the waiter comes too our table (we have known him for a couple of years, and he's a very funny and helpful Italian guy) and mentions Abba and Deep Purple are having dinner at the restaurant. So the big guy is John Lord.

A crowd of some 10 people comes to the table directly next to us, and I recognize at least half of Abba and half of Deep Purple. I tried to listen in on their conversation a bit, but I don't know any Swedish, and there was just too much fun going on, so no luck.

Just wondering; did we witness the birth of another supergroup...?

Have a nice holiday... ;-)
