it records to SD card...) but at $549 I think its a better value.

<p>I have a black box, and while I wish it had a few more synth-like
processing features it's one of the best samplers I've used. It
has some quirks for sure, but given that I also have a kurzweil
and now an A4K, I don't worry about the flaws so much. <br>
</p>
<p>I'm not sure I'd see the need for the blue box either, although
as I collect more desktop gear I'm seeing how much portable
flexibility it could offer while working with the blackbox and
some other bits of gear. <br>

<p class="MsoNormal">If I were more mobile, I’d see the value of
it. This could be the perfect companion to an iPad/iPhone or
even one of the current MPC line or Akai Force. It has a
built in synthesizer and drum machine, so its more than just a
mixer, too (but I can’t imagine working with that tiny, tiny
screen to be any fun at all). I may sound blasphemous but I
think it’s a bit too small. My hands are by no means big, but
this thing is TINY.</p>

in a moment of weakness, since it does fill a niche in my
studio…$1199 is a tough sell, though.
