<p class="MsoNormal">I have the same feelings about ASUS. I had a machine based on them that was riddled with odd problems until I eventually bit the bullet and replaced the mother board (can’t remember what I replaced it with)…and suddenly all the weird
went away… </p>

That was definitely an issue with my Supermicro C7X58 with LGA1366 <br>
socket. Of the four USB ports I kinda blew up while installing the ATX <br>
backplate, one of them turned out to be still working, years later, <br>
while one of the unaffected ports stopped working. It was a power issue, <br>
although I suppose sticking the little metal lips of the backplate into <br>
the ports didn't help.<br>
<br>
I ended up buying a 4xUSB PCI (!) card to make up for the lost ports and <br>
the increasing number of USB devices.<br>
<br>
Oh, and I'll never buy another Asus in my life, not after three <br>
mainboard and a graphics card all developed problems of some sort, or <br>
simply stopped working. Other people seem happy with them, though.<br>
