Hi Romain,

What pair of operating system versions you have on your machine? Mine is running low numbered versions, something like 1.05 and 1.01. The latest pairing is 1.14 and 1.11, and solved the timing issues (and many more). One obstacle to acquiring these versions
was that Yamaha being precious with their intellectual property... That has recently relaxed and the OS files are available for burning to chips.

Note though that new OS ROMs could be bought on ebay for £40-50 for the last couple of years or so, from enterprising sellers, but that price is sheer robbery.

In recent days, I decided to upgrade my ROM programmer (on order from China). I also have 42pin chips ready to be programmed.

I intended to offer latest EX5r ROMs at cost, to the EX5 user community, at cost - which would be half of the prices above.

Let me know if you are interested.

Also - any other Barians that may need ROMs burning, let me know. I will help if I can.

Cheers

Tim

The Ex5 rocks , but it got some bugs …

for instance: building my own arp seq make the thing crash … or memory problem in performance mode if you use more than 2 layers ( i heard about an alternative but i never tried)

But still I love the SDFP, VL and WMA, and I never regret to buy this synth even with the bugs :D

I didn t see new stuff on the community side since a while … I would really love to have a software editing for the EX5 working on mavericks OS.

you have sampling capability (import and native sampling). Samples can then be mangled with the synthesis engine.
There is a very active EX5 community. And very helpful.
