<div dir="ltr"><div><div><div>These days, we have quite a few evil empires. Microsoft in comparison looks moderately cool; it's come that far. Google are clearly evil, more so because they pretend to be cool. We' not Google's customers; we're their products. Apple are evil because of their brainwashed users, and Oracle are evil because they are the Gibson of the software world.<br>
<br></div><div>Linux is the whore of the software world: everybody uses it, but because it's public property, nobody really cares too much about it.<br></div><div><br></div>The argument about the myriad of screen resolutions and hardware configurations on Android is not particularly convincing. It's like saying that PCs are not very good gaming platforms because there are so many different versions of Windows, and variations in CPU and GPU power. It reminds me a bit of the days of AmigaOS 1.3, which some people complained about because the direct jumping to ROM locations (which was specifically discouraged by Commodore) caused their crapware to crash. And if Talking Tom (yes, yes, I know) runs without problems on practically any hardware you throw at it, why can't you run any other app without too many issues?<br>
<br></div>The point about lacking OS support may be valid, but then again this article is a year old and runs two Android versions (and two iOS versions) behind. Things might have changed in the meantime.<br><br></div>- Peter<br>
