<p>I did a little of both. If course, i also used live to quantize the machine noise and make odd little rhythms out of it. Machines are cool.</p>

It makes sense as you are most likely hearing it as you are recording. Did you go so far as matching up the exact machine noise with what was recorded at the time, or a generic noise recording?<br>
