There are specific things my audio engine that I need to keep (one of them being able to run everything in fixed point for FPU-less arm board). Plus I've spend quite a bit of time on tweaking it the way I want it to behave, so there's no way I'm dumping it at this point. I've got all the graph-based code already. It's just the 'builing of devices out of small blocks" that I'd like to externalise.<div>
<br></div><div>Speaking of SC, anyone knows how good SC is at synchronising audio stream and output midi events ? Getting tight syncronisation of external gear triggering with the internal audio has always been a bit of a headache on my side ;)</div>

I meant, the scene graph, hooking up modules, that sounds a bit like what SuperCollider does. Perhaps you can replace the audio engine with SC and port the individual generators.<br>

It's an idea I have been toying with for Faze1 and Violator but the same resistance you probably feel (SC is not *my* code) keeps me from doing it :)<br>

On a more positive note: I discovered Novocaine (<a href="http://alexbw.github.com/novocaine/" target="_blank">http://alexbw.github.com/novocaine/</a>) recently and managed to get my old code running smoothly within 15 minutes so perhaps...<br>
