Audio interfaces for the future

I have owned a Metric Halo ULN-8 for ten years, and it will probably be
great for another twenty. Their driver and hardware platform is unlike
anything I’ve seen.

That quality and innovation ain’t cheap, though. These days, I don’t need
many more than eight line inputs and a patchbay at any given time, but you
can record 8 line inputs, 8 mic inputs (line works fine; they can handle
insane signal levels and any bass rolloff just means you need to be
judicious in your patching) and 8 AES/EBU in one go, not that I’ve tried.

I hate to share a hype page, but the 3D platform and expansions are really
impressive:

And I have never, in some 15 years of using MH products, seen them say
“we’re working on drivers for the newest OS.” They are compatible with
MacOS updates before they’re even released.
