This one is made entirely on the modular, except for the drums (most sounds from the 9090, some from other drum boxes, added some stuff in live later on). Sequencer is the cirklon. SOmehow, when I 'play it live' in the studio, it works. When I record it, it's missing some punch, some aggression. I don't know what it is. Even when I record the 'mix out' it just isn't the same. Anyway, this is the best version I can make of it, and I need to clean up the modular as some folks 'rented' it for next weekend. Perhaps add some details such as pan hard from left to right on the 16th note snares. Cool track! And good bedtime music ;) Cheers, -- Joost Schuttelaar The Hague, NL > On 17 Feb 2020, at 20:49, tom adam wrote: > > I don't seem to get this one right... > > This one is made entirely on the modular, except for the drums (most sounds from the 9090, some from other drum boxes, added some stuff in live later on). > Sequencer is the cirklon. > > SOmehow, when I 'play it live' in the studio, it works. I am not really a big fan of your intro for this song but it s worth to keep listening ;) I love the LFO starting at 1 min 53 but also like the LFO modulation at the end… Later in the song after the 4 min I really like the High Freq Fx but I would put a filter on it from 4min30 and maybe a small ping-pong delay for the last Fx hit. Also putting the Voice more in Front as Joost mentioned maybe something to think of .. For me this song have enough aggression … But it all a matter of taste after all, Thx for sharing :) Romain > On 17 Feb 2020, at 20:49, tom adam wrote: > > I don't seem to get this one right... > > This one is made entirely on the modular, except for the drums (most sounds from the 9090, some from other drum boxes, added some stuff in live later on). > Sequencer is the cirklon. > > SOmehow, when I 'play it live' in the studio, it works. Also being used as a submixer, which is possible according to the manual (p23). We don’t have computers with USB-C, so I’m not sure if I want to go the convertor/adaptor route. Thanks! :) m. PS: looking at my original MOTU Traveler it’s amazing how prices dropped and quality rose over the years (stating the obvious, yeah, but still …)
