Loading .syx files into virus vsti

Further info: I found this utility that will convert a .syx file to .mid:
http://cinetix.de/interface/tiptrix/syxtomid.htm
According to the Virus Control manual, I should be able to just drop a .MID file into a specific folder on my system and the librarian will be able to read it. That didn't work with the .syx file, so this might be my solution. Documenting for others.

Nice! :)

Is like to figure out how to load it into the vsti software so I can just pull certain patches out. I'd rather not load the entire bank and erase the A/B Banks since I've already got projects dependent on sounds there (I only use the vsti for editing, so my patches aren't integrated with my songs).

Best thing is to load it into the vsti (I think you can just drag and drop it into the patch window) and then arrange the banks there before sending it off.

But of course: back up your existing sounds first.
