It's the ability to play multiple gates for each step.  From about 2:46 in

The two control tracks that make the SC4 different to most other sequencers
are:

Track4: Length
Track5: Repeat

In my video, on the left, I highlight what track is being edited.  Look out
for the two about tracks (2:46 onwards shows this best).
