Contrast, vivacity don't make accurateness. For this you still have to go pro and very expensive. We had in DTP viable solution "cheap" which were about the price of the beginning of the "pro" now. But it's only for about a year now that the decent for work stepped down to be in TFT about half cheaper.

Right now, I have more concern about the money I can invest in this (quite original: I'm chronically broke) than the offer of available screens.

You can also have decent profiles at http://www.focus-numerique.com/test-42/-telecharger-un-profil-calibre-pour-son-ecran-quelques-explications-1.html

But for serious work, the calibrator is still mandatory. Mind that these needs are that of a professional, so I'm a sucker even if you can't really see the difference (mhmmmm nice ambiguity ^^). I know it'll be a nice move from my old CRTs that are really on their end now, but I just can't buy 3 screens in a go. Even One will have to wait. ;)

BTW, I found a little bluetooth USB dongle for dirt cheap that is supposed to work in windows, linux and os x, I'll tell you if it does (for linux and OS X). It's chinese no name but seems to be sold under Reekin brand in Europe too, at 3€ I could test… :o)

still rummaging the rest
