Agreed.  I have a Fender Squier Strat copy thing I can't really get on
with for the same reasons.  My guitar teacher then suggested a Classical
guitar as it has a wider 2" neck.  Plus it having nylon strings as well
made it much easier for my Shrek like hands.

Thoroughly recommend by me as a good beginners guitar.  Not only can you
plug it directly into an amp or pre-amp to record it, it also has a
built in tuner too :D

I'm still not great a playing it though.
