installing Max for Live

There are a hell of a lot of interesting things I can imagine being
able to do with Max for Live but the large initial outlay and the
whole closed proprietary system stacked on closed proprietary system
thing really put me off.  Besides that, I'm kind of over graphical
patching systems (Max, PureData etc.), SuperCollider makes it vastly
easier to do anything complex (for me, as someone who codes anyway -
YMMV).
