Ubuntu studio audio problem

Probably a silly question, but are you using the Nvidia proprietary 
drivers, not the default, safe ones?

Other than that, increase buffer sizes or, as the other 'bots say ;) get 
a cheapo PCIe GFX card. The card in my computer is a Radeon HD2600X or 
something, still plays games great, but is completely outdated already 
and almost impossible to buy. I can only imagine the excess power of 
todays top GFX cards being,,well,umm,excessive :)
