Well, "USB-mike" does sound rather low budget indeed ;-)

True.
But.
This is the story.

It's a mike I bought especially for "voice talents" in Wageningen
that need to record a lot. This way they can do it at home, while
I can do other work. The idea is that most of these people are
foreign students, and they (temporarily) live in rather noisy
houses or empty and hollow sounding rooms. With a dynamic mic,
you can come close to the mike, and most of the room sound will
be gone.
I tested the mike first, and the result was great. (especially
after a little bit of EQ and compression). But it NEEDS a pop
shield (just got a couple from Thomann today).
Anyhow, I just hoped there might be a way to save the recordings
that were already done...

TBH, I started with condenser mikes. I got 2 Samson GoMics.

They sound good enough for the voice recordings my clients need,
but they pic up everything in the room, and that does not work
nicely with everyone. There's one guy, though, that records under
his raised bed (dampens the sound nicely), and he CAN use the
condenser. His recordings are good (check att).

Yep.

No. There's nothing you can do change the gain except speak
straight into the mike and speak a bit louder.

Very true.

Thanks for your reaction :-)
