You should browse through the first page of Midibox of the week!
The midibox organ made my jaw slip a bit..

It is one of the simplest projects on the site.
The Core and SID modules/PCB's are not really complex at all.
I bought the SID and core kits from Mikes Electronics:

It was hardly worth the saving just buying the PCBs.
Each PCB takes an hour or two to complete on a good day including
checking over. Helps if your soldering 'just works'.
I made a DINx1 and the button backing, PSU and EL HV PSU on vero board.
Wiring it all together took longest, but I took my time and only made
one or two small errors in the interconnections that were easy to spot
and fix.

The housing itself took about six hours spaced over several days, glue
and filler drying mainly and the brass took some effort to file and
measure once, twice, three times just in case before cutting/drilling.
I still made a mistake... ;)

That's the new, improved, midibox SID V2. I made the ver 1.
It wasn't ready when I started, but should be the one to go for.
You should check out the V2 as it has multiple modes of operation
(bassline/lead etc.) and can support up to 8 SIDs I think. It supersedes
the V1 in all ways, tho the V1 is still excellent.

Keep moisture away from the gear, huh? :)
