If someone leaves their 'silent' mobile phone on a surface, it is no 
longer silent. It's invariably louder and more annoying.

But those people do that on purpose.
And guess what? Most people love to annoy others or have that "oh, look 
at me. I'm Gods gift" attitude.

You make it sound like Gert has done this before ;)

I know it seems great to be able to phone an exact person, but the 
reciprocal of this is that you lose many excuses for not answering.
