 From that point of view, the only reason we're still using oil is  
because the alternatives are being suppressed.  Same with synthesizer  
control interfaces; nobody wants to do the big cool thing coz its too  
risky and expensive, and cheap $1 LCD's for washing machines are easy  
and 'safe' ..
