if I beleived that even 10% of this revenue went to public transport I'd
agree.
But I doubt that even 1% goes towards it.

Don't forget that an increase in fuel prices leads to an increase in
public transport costs, which puts people off using it.

it's a big horrible cycle, that needs breaking somewhere and the current
idiots in charge don't give a damn about public transport or crippling the
economy.

I'd *LOVE* to use public transport, but getting from my home to my place
work would take approximately 3.5 hours (each way) and cost me about £500
a month.
And as I say, if my fuel costs rise to £500 a month I bet the cost of
public transport will rise to £800 a month!
