I try to read everything, and quite often the e-mails are short. And 
most - but not all ;) - members edit away the irrelevant parts before 
replying, which makes it easier.

However, sometimes I just brush over messages, especially when it's a 
subject I'm not particularly interested in.

But I wouldn't suggest trying to read everything, if you have a life 
outside the internet. :)
