The implementation of modern DAW's is not necessarily done by way of  
signal chain mechanics .. its quite possible to implement a DAW with  
very little impact granted by some parameters, even if those  
parameters are only validly used in the context of others, signal- 
chain wise.

Presumably because the isolation of parameter value and algorithm is  
done in such a way that using one does not impact the other ..
